I'm Real Because...

I’m real because I love to live life. I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not, I just do me. I am currently a senior at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS). At TAMS I serve as the sports club president. Since we do not have athletics, I head our participation in intramurals and organizing other sporting events. I also have volunteered over 300 hours in various community service projects. One of these is Camp Summit, a camp for people with disabilities, in which I coordinated over 100 volunteers to donate a weekend assisting campers. Another role I have is being a senior mentor. I live in a wing with 28 juniors to assist them in making a smooth transition into TAMS. I also serve as the TAMS senator in the SGA at UNT. Together as a senate we have come up with innovative ideas that affect the entire UNT community. Through each of these activities I constantly have to demonstrate and encourage others to live by integrity, teamwork, compassion, and respect.
