I'm Real Because...

I’m a real teen because I took a big step and joined a life changing program: buildOn. BuildOn is a non for profit organization. It is a program that changes lives by working with their after school programs and communities in developing countries to help build schools for the less fortunate. As a member of buildOn, I did community service in food pantries, cleaning community parks, planting flowers and trees, and working with the elderly and the youth. Community service became my passion even more like a hobby. In 2009, with the buildOn team, I was given the opportunity to help build a school in Mali, West Africa. Through two weeks of hard work and cultural immersion in Mali, I became part of a framework that would serve those in dire need of education for today and for generations to come. I step out of my comfort zone and help change the lives of thousands of people across the world. That is why I'm a real teen!
